I’ve uploaded a screenshot of the Toronto Standup Community Facebook group’s response to this whole Daniel Tosh situation, starting with the status posted above. It’s fucking long as shit, so I’m keeping it on my Dropbox, and you can see it by clicking here.
I’ve removed the names associated with each comment, although none of these fucking assholes deserve it.
I’m not looking to enter into a dialogue about this (beyond what I said on twitter). I’ve spent time today crying about the discussion and how it’s gone down, so I don’t want to devote any more brainpower to it. But I just wanted some kind of record of the people in my “community” being douchebags.
This also serves, I guess, as a pretty good explanation of why I don’t do stand-up comedy anymore. I don’t want to interact with these people in the slightest, and getting gigs and stuff means pretending like they’re decent human beings.
